Hotel Description:Vijaypur, a tiny Himalayan village, located between Bageshwar and Chaukori (150 km from Nainital City) is known to only a few travellers. Situated at an altitude of 6750 feet, this sleepy hamlet rests on a ridge overlooking the magnificent Himalayan range. On a clear day the place offers one of the most breathtaking views of the entire range from Trishul, Nanda Devi, NandaKot to Panchachuli and Appi peaks. Tea gardens carpet the slopes of Vijaypur while the surrounding ridge is completely covered by rows of Pine, along with Chestnut, Oak Kafal and Rhododendron.Nestling amongst tall Pine and Chestnut trees, next to the highway and overlooking the Himalayas, Chestnut Grove Himalayan Lodge is a small complex of aesthetically constructed hill cottages constructed from stone, wood bamboo and thatch. At present there are four huts and two rooms, all tastefully furnished, with attached toilets and running hot and cold water. A separate dining and lounge area, built out of wood has large glass windows opening into the Himalayas. The restaurant serves Indian and Continental cuisines.
