Chesaning could be a village in Saginaw County within the U.S. State of Michigan. The village is found inside Chesaning territorial division. The Owosso and Saginaw Navigation Company, organized in 1857 to maneuver merchandise by barge up and down the stream, began construction of a canal and lock on the side of the dam for transport product on the stream. The stream continued to be necessary for business use till the railroad arrived in Owosso. The railroad through Chesaning, inbuilt 1867, was initial surveyed to be engineered just about 3 miles west of Chesaning, going directly from marksman to St. Charles. Luckily, Wellington Chapman given $18,000, a substantial add at the time, to the railroad to secure a route through Chesaning. The rail was important to the economy of the village.
