Detail InformationEdit

The Dynasty of the Pitzenberger had a Romanesque style Chapel built here in Medieval times and dedicated it to Saint Ulrich.
In 1885 the original structure was in such a dilapidated state that it had to be demolished. It was completely rebuilt in the same year. Today´s chapel can accommodate 20 people.
The interior´s most noticeable feature is a stone statue depicting the Christ on the Mount of Olives with the year 1431 inscribed. The precious wood statue of the Madonna with Child that used to adorn this church is now on display at the Provincial Museum of Linz. A copy is installed on the altar flanked by statues of Jesus and Saint Antonio.
Complete renovation works were carried out by the local authority of Pitzenberg in 1978. Each year in May the chapel serves as venue for the Marian Devotions.
