Chandragiri temple was constructed by Chamundaraya, the disciple of Acharya Nemichandra Siddhanta Chakravarti. It is located on the Chandragiri Hills and has been built by using granite stones. The inscriptions in the temple date back to the 10th century. These inscriptions have assisted the scholars in comprehending the history of Kannada literature and its language.
