Chalatenango (known as “Chalate” by locals) may be a city and municipality within the Chalatenango department of Salvador. It’s the capital of the department.The coat of arms is truly a similar because the department’s, as is that the flag.
As of 2007 the municipality covers a neighborhood of 131.5 km2 and includes a population of twenty nine,271. It’s divided administratively into vi cantons and thirty six caserios.Chalatenango is home to the football groups Alacranes Del Norte and C.D. Chalatenango. The house ground for each clubs is Estadio José Gregorio MartÃnez. It options floodlights and a main stand with seating accommodation.Another in style sport within the region is farming or Jaripeo. Events occur each few months within the villages around Chalatenango and within the field opposite the Gregorio Martinez outside of Chalatenango town.
