Chalatenango may be a city and municipality within the Chalatenango department of Republic of El Salvador. It’s the capital of the department. The coat of arms is really an equivalent because the department’s, as is that the flag. As of 2007 the municipality covers an area of 131.5 km2 and incorporates a population of twenty nine,271. It’s divided administratively into six cantons and thirty six caserios. Chalatenango is home to the football game teams Alacranes Del Norte and C.D. Chalatenango. The house ground for each clubs is Estadio José Gregorio Martínez. It features floodlights and a main stand with seating accommodation.
