Central could be a city in Pickens County, South geographic area, u. s., on SC route ninety three. Contrary to its name, it’s not close to the central space of South geographic area. It received its name from its geographic location, being the halfway or central purpose between Atlanta and Charlotte on the previous Atlanta and Richmond Air-Line Railway line. Central’s population was three,522 at the 2000 census. The city is an element of the Greenville–Mauldin–Easley metropolitan space.
