Detail InformationEdit

The Catholic church dedicated to St. John the Baptist was probably erected in the mid 17th c and according to tradition even earlier. It was repeatedly renovated and restructured. During the renovation carried out between 1892 and 1893, a sacristy and a chapel were erected. Between 1922 and 1923, a new tower was erected in the place of the former one. Since 1991, the church has functioned as a Catholic church. Ruins of earth fortifications, on irregular layout, are visible nearby the church. The church in Sonin is an example of sacred wooden architecture that adheres to the Gothic tradition.
