The Cathedral Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi, unremarkably called Saint Francis Cathedral, could be a Roman Catholic cathedral in downtown Santa Fe, New Mexico. It’s the mother church of the diocese of Santa Fe. The cathedral was engineered by bishop Jean Baptiste Lamy between 1869 Associate in Nursingd 1886 on the location of an older adobe church, La Parroquia (built in 1714–1717). An excellent earlier church on identical website, in-built 1626, had been destroyed within the 1680 Pueblo Revolt. The new cathedral was engineered around La Parroquia, that was demolished once construction was complete. Atiny low chapel on the side of the cathedral is all that is still of the previous church.
