Galta is an ancient temple complex that is located in the Jaipur district of the state of Rajasthan. It has been an important pilgrimage site for many centuries and there are many temples, ponds, pavilions and other structures that can be seen in the place. Galta also has many natural springs and it is an interesting place to visit. The architecture of the site is also excellent and most of the buildings have stood the test of time. The main temple of the complex is built with stone that is pink colored and it is famous for the large colony of monkeys that have made it their home. The place is referred to as Galwar Bagh or Monkey Temple as well. The walls of the temples are painted with exquisite murals and there are many domed structures and carved stone pillars. There are seven tanks that are located in the vicinity and the most famous of the lot is the Galta Kund. The water of the various natural springs and reservoirs are considered to be holy and many visitors take a dip in them, especially during the Makar Sankrati season. The Balaji Temple and the Surya Temple are the other main temples that are located in the area. The place experiences semi arid conditions and it is very similar to that in the city of Jaipur. Summers are extremely hot and conditions are dry for the most part.

Galtaji Temple, dedicated to the Sun God, Lord Surya, is situated on Jaipur-Agra Highway at a distance of 10 kms away from Jaipur near Sisodia Rani ka Bagh. This 18th century magnificent temple which looks like a Haveli was built by Diwan Rao Kriparam, an aristocrat of Sawai Jai Singh II, on the top of the hills with pink sandstone. The walls of the temple is adorned with exquisite paintings and carvings. As the temple complex is always surrounded by lots of monkeys, it is sometimes known as ‘the Monkey Temple’. Galtaji temple is one of the famous holy pilgrim center in India, where Saint Galav is believed to have spent his life and meditated. Temples pavilions and holy kunds ( natural spring and water tanks ) along with lush landscape make it a delightful spot. Among the seven kunds located here, the most holiest and the sacred one is the Galta Kund. It is believed that by taking a dip in this sacred tanks the devotees will get relief from all sins. Every year during the Makar Sankranti ( in mid-January ), large number of people visit the temple to take a bath in the kund. Several other shrines named Sita Ram Temple, three story temple of Balaji ( hanuman temple ) and Krishna Temple are located within the Galtaji temple premises.

Gajner Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Bikaner district in the state of Rajasthan. The sanctuary is home to many species of animals and some of them are wild fowls, boars, desert foxes, antelopes, blue bulls, black bucks and a few others. The sanctuary is also home to many varieties of flora. Many species of birds can be found in and around the lake that is present in the Gajner Wildlife Sanctuary, especially during the winter season which is the period of migration. Another attraction in the place is the Gajner Palace Hotel which is located in the sanctuary itself. The hotel is the only accommodation that is available in the place and was previously the hunting lodge of the royal family of Bikaner. The lodge has exquisite rooms and is a good place to stay. The palace was built in a mix of Mughal and Rajput Architecture. The hotel also arranges safaris for guests and also for those who visiting the place. Safaris are conducted in jeeps that can carry six people. However there are no licensed guides that are located in the sanctuary. One can visit the reserve only through the hotel and private vehicles are not allowed inside the premises of the reserve. Gajner experiences a desert climate since it is located in the midst of the Thar Desert.

Gadag is a town present in the state of Karnataka and is a very important tourist destination famous for its many monuments. The town of Gadag is located in the Gadag district in the state. The town of Gadag is filled with printing presses and handloom cottage industries, apart from major historical sites and structures. Gadag was a major city in ancient India, under the rule of the Chalukyas. This explains the sheer number of temples and historical structures in the town of Gadag. Also, the architectural sites in the town of Gadag have a distinct style that can’t be seen anywhere else in the country. Thus, there is a separate section in the journals of ancient Indian architecture for the Gadag style of architecture. The Trimukteshwara Temple in Gadag is a very fine example of the Gadag style of architecture. The temple is a very complex structure and is popular among the tourists and pilgrims visiting the area. There are three major shrines in the temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord Brahma and Lord Surya. There are many inscriptions in these historical sites in Gadag as well, and these can be literally translated to point out historical facts and events.

Gadag district had a population of 971,952 of which 35.21% was urban as of 2001. Population increased 13.14% in the decade 1991-2001. The District is bounded on the north by Bagalkot District, on the east by Koppal District, on the southeast by Bellary District, on the southwest by Haveri District, on the west by Dharwad District, and on the northwest by Belgaum District. Gadag District was formed in 1997, when it was split from Dharwad District. Gadag district, the core area of Kalyani Chalukyas has many monuments (mainly Shiva temples, Jain Basadis) Kalyani Chalukyas propagated Jainism and built temples (known for architectural beauty). Gadag district has five taluks namely Gadag-Betgeri, Ron, Shirhatti, Nargund and Mundargi. Gadag-Betageri is a town and a city municipal council in Gadag district in the state of Karnataka, India. It is the administrative headquarters of Gadag District. The original city of Gadag and its sister city Betageri (or Betgeri) have a combined city administration. The municipality of Gadag-Betageri has a population of 172,813 and an area of 54.56 km². Kanaginahal of Gadag is the birthplace of the first co-operative socity in Asia. The twin city municipality is situated 80 km from Dharwad and 60 km from Hubli, and lies on the Gutti-Vasco National Highway.

Haldia is a city that is situated in the state of West Bengal in the Purba Mendipur region. The city is one of the main sea ports in the region and it is present near the mouth of the Hooghly River. There are many places of tourist interest that are located here and these include historical monuments, temples and various sightseeing places. The region is perfect place to relax and escape the hectic life of the city. The main place of interest in the region is the Mahishadal Rajbari. This is an estate that was established in the 16th century and there are two sprawling palaces that are present here. The buildings are still in excellent condition and it is a good place to visit. One can also see a Gopaljew Temple in the palace complex. Some of the other temples that are located here two Shiva Temples, a Jagannath Temple and Natmandir. One can also visit the 5th century palace that is present here known as the Tamluk Palace. This is primarily in ruins at the moment. The ancient palace has withstood 2500 years of turmoil and is an example of the architectural brilliance of that period. The climatic conditions of the city of Haldia can be classsifed as a tropical monsoon type and the conditions vary according to the different seasons. Summers are hot and humid for the most part. Humidity is also a factor in these parts due to the proximity of the ocean. Monsoon season is long and one can expect perennial rainfall during this season. Winters are mild and this is the best time to visit the place.

Haldia is a city and a municipality in Purba Medinipur in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is a major riverport and industrial belt located approximately 50 kilometres southwest of Calcutta near the mouth of the Hooghly River, one of the distributaries of the Ganges.The Haldia Township is bordered by the Haldi River an offshoot of the Ganges River. The riverside in Haldia is a favorite destination for residents and one can see people strolling down the riverside during the evenings. A catamaran service used to operate from Kolkata to Haldia, but was withdrawn due to its high price and a decreasing number of passengers.
