Yellapur is a quaint little town that is located in the district of the State of. The place is situated amidst the Western Ghats and is an idyllic and serene place. The entire area is surrounded by thick forests and there are different species of flora and flora that can be seen. The town is situated on the route from Darwad to Ankola. The town is used as a pit stop by many truck drivers and other travelers. There are a few places that one can visit in the area. Most of the roads are steep and there are many sharp curves and bends on the Ghat roads. There is one main road that runs through the length of the town and most of the shops and hotels are located along this road. There are two waterfalls that are located in Yellapur and these are the main attractions of the place. Numerous valleys and hills can be seen in the area and these are a good option for nature enthusiasts. The Satodi Falls and the Magod Falls are located around 25 km and 19 km from the village respectively. These are a good place to visit, especially in the evenings. Sunsets are spectacular when viewed from these places.

The path taking the roadway to Yelagiri is finely constructed and well punctuated with the milestones and signboards all way through. Petrol pumps are sufficient enough which makes traveling convenient and easy. Huge plains can be seen from the ghat and visitors enjoy using their telescope for enjoying the ethnic beauty which stays spread far and wide. A little risk of the stray animals does persist but one can always enjoy a good time with the tamed ones. The difficulty which one would actually face is the lack of medication facility provided in these areas. So, when one opts for the hilly destination one is supposed to have first aid kit, so as to avoid any medical traumas. Best season to visit Yelagiri is from November to February. It is a wonderful place for trekking and people generally love going trekking in these hilly areas. Full of wonderful temples on the hilly region, it makes it a wonderful place for the young and old alike. Temple bells add a special mythological essence to the bells and keeps the feeling of life alive even in times of bare silence.

Yana is located in the Kannada district in Karnataka. It is famous for its unusual rock formations. The village of Yana is famous for its two main rocky formations; they are the Mohini Shikara and Bhairaveshwara Shikara. The black limestone is seen in a crystalline form and the Shikara’s are around 300 feet in height. The Village is also a place of pilgrimage and is considered scared by many due to the cave temple where a natural or self manifested lingam has formed. Yana is also a hill station and is popular due to its lush green forest. A waterfall called Vibuthi falls is one of the important tourist attraction. During the festival season many devotees flock to the hill station and the village is transformed into a hub of activity. Many devotees who visit take a dip at the spring in the cave in order to cleanse themselves.

By Air : You can also take flights to Kozhikode and reach Vythiri from there through bus. The airport in Kozhikode is an international airport, with flights to Chennai, Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore along with many gulf countries. Flight fares for destinations within India will start at Rs 4,000 and go till Rs 8,000-9,000.

By Train : You can also opt for train travel in order to reach the resort town of Vythiri. Trains will be available to the nearest railway station at Kozhikode, and buses can be taken from there to Vythiri. The railway station at Kozhikode has regular trains to all destinations in Kerala including Trivandrum(Jan Shatabdi), Kochi(Netravati Exp) and Ernakulam. Trains will also be available to the cities of Coimbatore (Src Vivek Exp), Mangalore (Ltt Garib Rath), Chennai (Chennai Exp) and Bangalore (Yesvantpur Exp). Train fares from these cities to Kozhikode will range around Rs 400 for the basic class of travel.

By Bus : Buses to Vythiri ply from the city of Kozhikode, and the town is a two hour drive away from the city. Vizianagaram district also known as Vijayanagaram district is Located 60 Kms from Visakhapatnam, a northern coastal district of Andhra Pradesh. The imposing fort formed the nucleus around which grew the town of Vizianagaram. Depicting the past glory of the rulers, the quadrangular stone fort is evident of the knowledge and skillfullness of the builders and architects of those days. An ancient temple of Pydithalli Ammavaru is situated in this town. Legend has it that one of the daughters of the Pasupati royal family was the reincarnation of the pressing deity, Pydithallamma. The local believe that with the blessings of the Goddess one can lead a happy & prosperous life. The idol of the Goddess was discovered on Vijayadasimi day way back in the year 1752. To mark the occasion, an annual jatra is held on21st and 22nd October which attracts large crowds. The Moddukovillu temple is unique in that the Shivalinga in the temple has two different colours, symbolizing the male and female aspects of the union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The temple was built by an old woman who dreamt about it on her way to the holy city of Kashi ( Banares).

The history of Vizianagaram district is connected with hoary past of Kalinga, one of the political divisions of ancient India. Only in modern times, the upper part of Kalinga was gradually merged into Orissa State and the lower part into Andhra Region. An important event in the history of the district is the war between the Rajas of Vizianagaram and Bobbili, popularly known as Bobbili Yuddham. The war was fought between the Rajah of Vizianagaram aided by the French General Bussy and the Rajah of Bobbili on the 24th of January 1757. The bravery and valour of the soldiers of Bobbili displayed in this war is still remembered by the people of the area. Another important event in the history of the district is the war between the French and the English fought at Chandurthi in 1758 in which the French were defeated and the Northern Circars were made over to the British under a firmana from the Mughal Emperor, Shah Alam in 1765 which were placed under the then existing Chief and Council at Vizagapatam.

Vindhyachal is a town in Mirzapur District of Uttar Pradesh state in northern India. The city is a Hindu pilgrimage site having the temple of Vindhyavasini, who according to Markandeya Purana had incarnated to kill the demon Mahishasur.
