Lava is a small hamlet situated 34 kilometres (21 mi) east of the town of Kalimpong via Algarah in Darjeeling district of the state of West Bengal, India. It is one of the few places in West Bengal to receive snow in winter. It is the entry point to the Neora Valley National Park from Kalimpong. The route to Lava is scenic with the change in vegetation from tropical deciduous to the wet alpine trees of fir, pine and birch. The verdant forests are a popular spot for picnicking, trekking and bird-watching. Lava has now become a favorite tourist destination for people living on the coast of West Bengal, and tourism has become the source of living for the inhabitants. Lamayuru, located in western Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir is an interesting tourist spots of the region. The town is at a distance of 127 km from Leh and houses a spectacular gompa, situated in a very serene setting. Kagyupa Monastery in Lamayuru is one of the oldest Buddhist monasteries in the world. Situated near a beautiful lake, with the huge mountains providing an intimidating background, the monastery is a major attraction in Lamayuru region. Built during 10th century, the monastery is quite large even by today’s standards and it currently accommodates more than 150 monks. The monastery has been rebuilt many times, and this can plainly be seen in its architecture. Frescoes, murals, shrines and thangkas on the walls of the monastery are beautiful. Wanla Gompa is another interesting place to visit; it can be reached by taking a small trek from Lamayuru to the nearby region of Padum. Lamayuru experiences extreme sub tropical climate, similar to the climate in Kargil, near where it is located.

Lamayuru is one of the largest and oldest gompas in Ladakh, situated in Kargil district on Srinagar.It is located approximately 127 km from Leh on a steep mountain between Bodhkharbu and Kha-la-che. The monastery belongs to Red-Hat Sect of Buddhism. At its peak, the monastery housed 400 monks but nowadays there are only 50 inmates. About 150 monks reside in Lamayuru village. The monastery is famous for its rich wall paintings, collection of thangkas, murals, scriptures and statues of different forms of Buddha and other deities.

The best time to visit Lachen lies between the month of March to early July and from October to mid December. At an altitude of 8500 ft Lachen is alluring in its simplicity. Junagadh is district in the Indian state of Gujarat. The city is the 7th largest in Gujarat, in western India, located at the foot of the Girnar hills, 355 km south west of state capital Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad. The name Junagadh means Old Fort. Various famous rulers such as the Kshatrapas, Mauryans, Chudasamas, Guptas, Vilabhis, Gujarat Sultans and Babi Nawabs have reigned in this part of the world. The architecture and rich cultural heritage of Junagadh stands as the edifice of the political and religious influences of the various rulers who have ruled the region. Four major religions, Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Islam, have left a substantial influence on Junagadh. However, a stronger influence of the rulers of Junagadh was felt on the architecture of the city. During the reign of Babi Nawabs, Junagadh was the capital of the Junagadh State.
