Kota in Rajasthan enjoys an interesting history. Going back to the 12th century, the history of the city claims to have been the seat of the Hada chieftain, who conquered the city and divided in two parts, namely Bundi and Hadoti. The city gained the reverence as an important symbol of Rajput valor in the beginning of the 17th century when king Ratan Rao sing handed over the reigns of the city to his son Madho Singh, during the rule of King Jehangir. Jehangir’s successor, Shah Jehan, made Rao Madho Singh was made the independent ruler of the state. An important contribution in the history of Kota has been made by Maharao Bhim Singh, who was the first ever king to have been awarded with the title of ‘Maharao’. The city suffered constant attacks from the Marathas and the Nizams of, however, they failed ate their attempt. In the year 1771, the king of Kota Goman Sing died handing over the reigns to his ten year old son Umed who was then helped by Zalim Singh. The city came under the British flag in 1817 and it remained so till India’s independence

Naggar Village is located in the District of Kullu in the state of Himachal Pradesh in India. It lies on the left bank of the river Beas and about 300 meters above the river. The village is beautifully surrounded by the magnificent mountains, waterfalls and snow covered ranges. The village is known for the impressive cultural heritage and rich architectural style. Tourists can make a visit to the beautiful Gauri Shankar mandir. The temple was built in the 11th and 12th century and according to the historical evidences it is the last great monuments of the Gurjara – Pratihara traditions. Apart from the Gauri Shankar mandir there are other famous temples in the area namely Vishnu, Chatar Bhuj temple, Tripura Sundri Devi, Tripura Sundari and Lord Krishna. Rich in wood and stone carvings these temples are constructed in the Shikhara and Pagoda style.

The Khinsvar Fort is located around 50 km away and this 500 years old fort is also a worth visiting site. Nagaur fair, which is held every year, is the second largest cattle fair in India, where over 70,000 animals and their traders took part. Additionally, the Nagaur Sufi Music festival held during the month of February every year also draws lot of visitors.
