Ramanagaram, the Silk City, is situated about 50 km to the southwest of Bangalore and this place is the headquarters of the Ramanagara district. As is the case with the other parts of Karnataka this was also ruled by the Gangas, Cholas, Hoysalas and the Mysore Kings, but the city shot to fame with the shooting of the film Sholay’ during the 70’s. Ramanagaram is surrounded by the seven majestic hills Shivaramagiri, Somagiri, Krishnagiri, and Yatirajagiri, Revanna Siddeshwara, Sidilakallu and Jala Siddeshwara. Because of the city’s rich harvest of silk, it is also often called the Silk City. Mysore silk saris that are famous all across the globe are weaved using the silk from Ramanagaram. Nature lovers will be happy here as the hills are home to yellow throated bulbuls and long billed vultures, which are endangered. The place is home to the Janapada Loka, a place for the folk art and culture of Karnataka, with many hills around, the place is a haven for rock climbers and this has contributed positively to tourism in the region.

By Air : There is no airport in the nearby vicinity except in Bangalore. These are modes of travel that you can opt for while traveling to Ramnagaram.

By Train : The town of Ramnagaram has a railway station too. This is not a major railway station, but the trains that ply from Mysore to Bangalore or vice versa stop in this station for a few minutes. Train travel can cost you around Rs 110 from Bangalore. Train tickets need to be booked in advance, though. Buses and auto rickshaws will be available from the railway station or bus stand for inner city travel.

Mon is a town that is situated in the state of in the Mon district. The region is in the northern parts of the state and the place has a unique culture and tradition. The region is home to several tribes and the main tribe in the region is the Konyak Nagas. The Konyaks can be seen in traditional clothing that consist of a hear gear, necklaces and head brushes. The people have tattooed faces and they are distinct. The Konyaks are adept at wood carving and one can exquisite carvings and artifacts in the place. These can be purchased as interesting souvenirs. One can also sample the local liquor that is made from rice. One can see skulls hanging in front of the houses as the Konyak tribe used to be headhunters. There are a few places of interest in the near regions as well and some of them are Veda Peak and Naganimora. One can see a waterfall near the peak and this is one of the most pristine places in the region. It is located around 70 kilometers from Mon.There are a few villages in the region that are worth visiting as well and some of them are Chui, Longwa and Shangynu. The climatic conditions of the district of Mon are fairly mild and the conditions are similar to the climate of the rest of Nagaland. One can experience three main seasons in the place and they are summer, winter and monsoon seasons. Summers are largely pleasant and temperatures are never extreme. The monsoon season receives abundant rainfall and wet conditions make it a difficult time to travel. Winters are chilly and this is also a good time to visit.

Rajnandgaon is the primary town of Rajnandgaon District, in the state of Chhattisgarh. The city of Rajnandgaon includes many temples like Gayatri Mandir, Barfaani Ashram, Sitla Mandir, Choupati. The Mohara Mela and the Bull Run are the famous celebrations organized in Rajnandgaon. The Mina Bazar located here is also an attractive tourist spots. It is famous for the Maa Bamleshwari Temple, situated on the hilltop of 1600 feet. Another temple, Chhoti Bamleshwari is also located here. The temples are visited and worshipped by several devotees from Chattisgarh and other places. The temples remain thronged with devotees especially during the Navaratri of Kavar and Chaitra.
