Sawai Madhopur is a city that is located in the state of in the Sawai Madhopur district. The area is the home of the famous and also the Ranthambhor Fortress. The fortress is located inside the boundaries of the park itself and it is an important tourist destination in the state. The city was developed in the mid 18th century by an emperor called Sawai Madhopur. The city is also well known for its guavas. The Ranthambhor Park is one of the tiger reserves in the country and it is located around 11 km from the city itself. The park is home to many species of animals and some of them that can be seen in the area are tigers, nilgais, leopards, chitals, sloth bears and many other species. Safaris rides are also available in the park and they last for around three hours each. The fortress located inside the park was built in the 10th century, and is a majestic piece of architecture. There are a few places that one can visit in and around the city and the most visited among them are, Karauli, Trinetra Ganesh Temple, Sri Mahaveerji Temple, Siwad, Amareshwar Mahadeo, Chauth Mata Temple and a few other places.

Sasaram is located in the Indian state of Bihar. This town is located in the district of Bhojpur. The town is famous among tourists, and this mainly because of its proximity to the main city of Patna. The town of Sasaram lies at a distance of around 148 kilometers from Patna. There are many monuments in the town of Sasaram, most of them dedicated to Sher Shah Suri, who was born in this town. These monuments are of historical importance. History buffs will love travelling to the town of Sasaram, given the above reasons. A tomb dedicated to the great emperor Sher Shah Suri is the chief attraction in Sasaram, and this tomb is a huge monument. Beautifully constructed, this tomb is often described as a treat for the eyes. The tomb is located right in the midst of an enormous lake, which is manmade. The tomb stands tall, at a height of around 122 feet. You can also visit another tomb in Sasaram, and this tomb is dedicated to Hasan Sur Khan, Sher Shah Suri’s father. This is a good place to visit, although it is majorly in ruins now. You can also visit the Sukha Rauza, the Samrat Ashoka Pillar and Maa Tara Chandi’s temple during your trip to Sasaram.

The Gir National Park which is also known as the Sasan Gir is a national park that is located in the state of Gujrat. This wildlife sanctuary first came into prominence in the year 1965. This is the only remaining place where one can see pure bred Asiatic lions and they are situated in one of most protected areas of the continent. The national park and its forests are also home to a wide variety of flora and fauna and visiting it is an interesting experience. Sariska Tiger Reserve is well nestled in the Aravali Hills covering 800 sq km area divided into the grasslands, dry deciduous forests, sheer cliffs and rocky landscape. Nearly 90% of the area in the sanctuary is covered with dhok trees accommodating various wildlife species. A variety of other wild animals like the leopard, sambhar, chital, nilgai, four-horned antelope, wild boar, rhesus macaque, langur, hyena and jungle cats are found in the Sariska Tiger Reserve apart from the tiger. The Sariska National Park is home to India’s largest population of peafowl, and harbours quail, sand grouse, golden- backed woodpeckers and crested serpent eagles, among other species. Also the Siliserh Lake on the edge of the park has a large number of crocodiles. The Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary houses the ruins of medieval temples of Garh-Rajor that date back to the 10th and 11th centuries. Also a 17th century castle on a hilltop at Kankwari provides a panoramic view of flying vultures and eagles. The Sariska was declared a sanctuary in 1955 and attained the status of a National Park in 1979. Sariska park is home to numerous carnivores including Leopard, Wild Dog, Jungle Cat, Hyena, Jackal, and Tiger. These feed on an abundance of prey species such as Sambar, Chitel, Nilgai, Chausingha, Wild Boar and Langur.

Laser show, craft and food bazar, film shows, bamboo balancing, jelly jump, build Saputara, bamboo ball, balloon blowing, ball and bucket, brick walk(couple), tug of war, musical chair, skip master, photo corner, cultural programmes, visit to local villages and interaction with local people, visit to Mahal forest, Shabaridham(Subir), trekking with packed lunch, visit to Gira falls, Vansda, botanical garden at Waghai, boating, visit to sun set point are some of the activities planned for tourists during the Monsoon festival. Saputara means ‘Abode of the Snakes’. Saputara attracted 60,000 tourists during the Monsoon Festival last year according to Gujarat Tourism Corporation officials. This year’s Monsoon Festival promises to be bigger and better with a plethora of activities lined up for adventure junkies, culture aficionados and ofcourse nature lovers. Kids are bound to have a great time with excitement packed games like Bamboo balancing, Jelly Jump, Bamboo Ball, Balloon blowing, Skip Master, Musical Chairs, Bamboo Ball, Brick Walk, Tug of war, etc. Parents and adults can chose from a wide range of Cultural Programs, Film Shows, Food and Craft bazaars. The entire family can enjoy Laser shows and associated programs highlighting the culture of the Dangs.
