Akkanabasadi temple was constructed in 1121 by Achiakka, the wife of a Brahmin minister, Chandramouli. It is built by using soap stone in the Hoysala architectural style. The temple enshrines a 5 ft tall idol of Lord Parshwanath. This temple has gopuras, sanctum sanctorum, sukanasi and sabha mantapa. There are carved images of deities, such as Yakshi Padmavathi and Yaksha Dharanendra, in the temple.

Gomateshwara Statue, also known as Bahubali Statue, is a major attraction which is 17 m tall. It is the highest monolithic statue of Lord Gomateshwara in the world. This statue was constructed in the 10th century by Chamundaraya, the General of King Rajamalla of the Ganga Dynasty. Several inscriptions in Tamil and Kannada language can be seen at the base of the statue. The ‘Mahamastakabhisheka’, a major Jain festival, is celebrated here once in 12 years. The festival includes the ceremony of pouring saffron, ghee, milk and curd on the statue.

The Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the chief attractions among wildlife enthusiasts. The wildlife reserve is spread over an area of 102 sq km, situated in the Western Ghats. Dense cover of evergreen forests, semi-evergreen forests and Shola grassland of the sanctuary provide shelter to innumerable wildlife species. The altitude of Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary varies from 160 to 1712 metres with Pushpagiri Peak in the north being the highest peak. The other notable peak of the sanctuary is Kumaraparvatha Peak. To the north, the sanctuary adjoins with Bisle Reserve, whereas Kukke Subramanya forest range lies in the west. Elephant, leopard, jungle cat, wild pig, spotted deer, barking deer, mouse deer and common otter are some of the species found in Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary. Besides, the reserve is home to jackal, hare, common mongoose, small Indian civet, common palm civet and porcupine.

Shravanabelagola Temple is one of the chief pilgrim centres of Jains. It is located between two rocky hills and is famous for an 18 metres high monolith of Lord Gomateshwara atop Indragiri hill. Along with the monolith, there are several small images of Jain Tirthankaras, around the Gomateshwara sculpture. Mahamastakabhisheka festival, an elaborate ritual held once every 12 years, is celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal. During the festival, the shrine is thronged by Jain devotees in large numbers. The statue can be reached by climbing 614 rock-cut steps.

Yagachi Dam is one of the popular tourist attractions. The reservoir is built across River Yagachi, a tributary of River Kaveri. Yagachi Dam was constructed in 2004 with the view to harness water resource for meeting irrigation and drinking water requirements of Belur, Hassan and Chikmagalur districts. The wide reservoir stands at an altitude of 965 feet above sea level.
