Bull Temple is among the oldest temples in the city, which is dedicated to Nandi, the wagon of Lord Shiva. Associated with mythological and religious significance, the shrine is a renowned worship place. Situated atop a mountain, the temple was built in the 16th century, during the Vijayanagara Rule. The temple is relatively small in size, but houses one of the largest Nandi sculptures in the world. It boasts a monolithic statue of deity Nandi, which is 4.5 metres tall and 6 metres long. Carved from a granite rock, the sculpture reflects Dravidian artwork. As per mythological stories, a bull saved crops of groundnut. Since then, farmers visit this temple every year to offer their first cultivated fruit to the deity. An annual groundnut fair is organised every year near by the temple.

Cubbon Park is a major sightseeing attraction of the city contributing to historical testaments, government buildings and cultural institutions. Spread over 334 acres, the landscape of this symmetric park is covered with innumerable flowers, rare floral species, trees and shaded groves. The park also has walking passages throughout, on which the visitors stroll, admiring the beauty of the park. Richard Sankey laid the foundation of this park in the year 1864 and named it in honour of the Engineer Commissioner, Cubbon. Tourists can see the statues of Queen Victoria, Major General Sir Mark Cubbon and Edward VII. In the middle of the park is the Seshadari Iyer Memorial, which houses a Public Library. At present, the park is looked after by the Department of Horticulture. The lush green premises of the park are home to around 6000 plants and trees species. Australian Grevillea Robusta (silver oak), which is among the rarest plant species is also present in the park. Besides, tourists also get to see numerous ornamental and flowering trees in the park. Located in middle of the city, Cubbon Park also features a bandstand that hosts music concerts of globally renowned artists.

Bangalore Palace is situated at the intersection of Sadashivanagar and Jayamahal. Modelled on the lines of Windsor Castle, the historical monument was built by Chamaraja Wodeyar, depicting the Tudor-style architecture. Sprawling over 147,466 sq ft., the structure encompasses woodcarvings, parapets, lawns, towers and gardens. The palace has a ballroom, which was used for organising private parties and assemblies during the king’s rule. Gallery of palace exhibits thousands of photos and paintings of famous personalities and rulers, like Diwan of Mysore and Sir Mirza Ismail. Visitors can also witness dining table that belonged to the royal rulers, Gothic windows, battlements and turrets in the palace.

Madiwala Lake is one of the largest and most popular lakes of Bangalore. The lake is also known as the BTM Lake. The lake covers a large area of 114.3 ha. The lake is also known as the Lake Garden as it has a well maintained garden adjoining it. The garden has large shaded trees. A children’s park has been created to provide a place for the little ones to enjoy in the beautiful atmosphere of the lake. It is a delight to watch the sun set over the horizon across the lake. There is an island in the middle of the lake that has bamboo bushes. This island is a source of attraction for several species of rare migratory birds that flock to the lake during the winter season, and is a wonderful destination to observe a number of rare migratory birds. The lake is maintained by the Karnataka Forest Department. To preserve the attraction of the lake the forest department carries out routine maintenance on this huge lake and its surrounding areas.

Madiwala Lake is an ancient water-body of Bangalore. The history of the tank can be traced back to 400 years. The tank was built to fulfil the demands of water for the purpose of irrigation, domestic use and primarily for washing clothes. The neighbouring areas of the lake were once occupied by traditional washer men for the purpose of residence. This is the reason the lake is popularly known as Madiwala Lake as Madiwala is the community of washer men.

Tipu Sultan Palace, identical to the Daria Daulat which is another palace of Tipu Sultan. Emperor referred to it as the ‘Rash-e-Jannat’, meaning abode of happiness and envy of heaven. Commissioned by Hyder Ali, the construction was completed under the reigns of Tipu Sultan. this beautiful palace has been converted into a museum, which gives visitors insight into the life of the emperor. Museum is maintained and managed by the Archaeological Survey of India. The double-storey structure comprises flowery wooden artwork adoring the columns, curves and balconies. Visitors can even stroll in the gardens, on both sides of the palace. The garden in the palace premises encompasses wonderfully cusped rosewood arches, fluted stone pillars and frescos.

After Tipu Sultan’s death in the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War, the British Administration used the palace for its Secretariat before moving to Attara Kacheri in 1868.
