Udanti Wildlife Sanctuary is a small but an important wildlife sanctuary in the region, located in Raipur district of Chhattisgarh. Established in 1983 under Wildlife Protection Act of 1972, the sanctuary covers an area of approximately 232 sq km. the topography of the sanctuary comprises of broken mass of land traversed by innumerable hill ranges intercepted by stripes of plains. Udanti Wildlife Sanctuary is famous for its population of the endangered Wild Buffalos. For their survival and growth many steps have been taken by the forest department officials.

Champaran is a small but famous village with lot of religious significance. Earlier known as Champajhar, it is the birthplace of Saint Vallabhacharya, reformer and founder of the Vallabha sect. A beautiful temple built in honour of this great saint enhances the religious sanctity of this place. Every year on the 11th day of Baisakh (April-May), thousands of devotees assemble here to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Saint and to pay homage to the holy soul. Rajivalochana Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Literally meaning ‘the beautiful-eyed one’, the temple displays an example of Mahakosala architecture. On 12 pillars of the temple are carved, beautiful figures of Goddess Durga, Lord Vishnu, Lord Rama and Lord Narasimha.Located on the banks of the Mahanadi River, the temple has the chaitya arch window motif as the main design. Entrance to the shrine is adorned with sculptures of nagins (snake Goddesses). In proximity of this temple is located other temples of various incarnations of Lord Vishnu like the Vamana and the Narasimha.
