During Eid or the other festivals or holidays, the zoo used to be the first amusement centre for the kids of this port town. However because of lack of attractions, numbers of holiday makers to the facility are perpetually depleting. Because of inadequate attractions and lack of maintenance, the amusement centre has lost most of its recent charm.
In 1988 The Deputy Commissioner, Chittagong, Mr.M.A.Mannan and a few different elites of urban center, primarily took initiative to determine a non-public menagerie at Foy’s lake, Chittagong for the aim of Recreation, Education and analysis on zoological garden animals that ultimately came into being on the 28th days of February 1989 and thereafter it absolutely was opened for the guests.
