Jaisalmer Fort

Jaisalmer Fort, also Known as Sonar Quila, rising from the sand , the mega structure merges with the golden hues of the desert ambience and the setting suns in its most colourful shades gives it a fairy tale look. Built in 1156 by the Bhati Rajput ruler Jaisal, Jaisalmer Fort is situated on Trikuta Hill and had been the scene of many battles.

Bada Bagh

Bada Bagh, also called Barabagh (literally Big Garden) is about halfway between Jaisalmer and Lodhruva. It was commissioned by Maharawal Jait Singh in the early 16th century and completed by his son Lunakaran after his death. The site has three different things to watch, a garden, a tank and a dam. In the vicinity itself you will find Govardhan Stambh (pillar).

Salim Singh ki Haveli

Salim Singh ki Haveli was commissioned by Salim Singh, the then Prime Minister of the kingdom when Jaisalmer was the capital. The haveli has a distinct architecture. The roof has been constructed in the form of Peacock. The haveli is situated beside the hills near the Jaisalmer Fort.

Amar Sagar Lake

Amar Sagar is a small and beautiful lake. It is a lake cum oasis, which lies adjacent to the Amar Singh Palace. This palace was constructed during the 17th century by Maharawal Akhai Singh in honour of his predecessor Amar Singh. There are pavilions with stairs near the palace that lead down towards the Amar Sagar Lake.

Patwon ki Haveli

Patwon Ji ki Haveli is an interesting piece of Architecture and is the most important among the havelis in Jaisalmer. This is precisely because of two things, first that it was the first haveli erected in Jaisalmer and second, that it is not a single haveli but a cluster of 5 small havelis.

Sam Sand Dunes

Sam sand dunes are becoming the major attraction in Jaisalmer. This is the closest place from where you can loose yourself in ‘the Great Thar Desert’. Sam has a truly magnificent stretch of sweeping dunes, with sparse or no vegetation. The best way to get here, of course, is on camelback. Desert National Park

The Desert National Park is located in western India in the fascinating sand dunes of Rajasthan. Government Museum

Government Museum was opened in 1984. It houses a great collection of wood and marine fossils and gives an insight into the geological past of the area. Sculptures from the earliest townships of Kiradu and Lodurva dating back to the 12th century and the graceful youth of those times can be traced in the Government Musuem in Jaisalmer.

Gopa Chowk

Gopa Chowk, also known as central market square, is located at the foot of the Golden Fort in Jaisalmer. It is the scenic well landscaped square located just in front of the first fort gate known as Akhai Pol. Gopa Chowk is placed east to the serene artificial lake known as Gadi Sagar and west to acclaimed Gandhi Chowk.

Gadsisar Lake

Gadi Sagar Lake is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Jaisalmer. It was once the only source of water for the Jaisalmer city in the olden days. This manmade reservoir, the Gadi Sagar Lake was constructed by Maharawal Jaisal, the first ruler of Jaisalmer in 1367 and later rebuilt and rewamped by Maharawal Garsi Singh. Artistically carved Chattris, Temples, Shrines and Ghats surround the banks of Gadi Sagar Lake .

This restaurant is one of the many similar eating places located here, and its location was obviously chosen to cater to the traveller in transit. It’s a popular place for people getting off or on a bus to have a quick, inexpensive meal.

4) Rawat Misthan Bhandaar

Rawat Mishthan Bhandar is synonymous with Pyaz ki Kachori and this is one of the best shops for the delicious onion–potato stuffed kachori. Though Rawat is not just about kachoris as it also has a 100-cover restaurant, people recognize it more as a mithai shop. Other than its signature Pyaz ki Kachori, there is a wide range of Indian sweets (several kinds of laddoos, burfis and Bengali mithais). People travelling to other parts of the country are usually requested by friends or family to bring along dozens of kachoris…! The staff is so used to this that they ask whether it should be packed to carry out of the station.

It conveys the lounge feel pretty well . the service staff is fast, prompt but overloaded .Generally , the service is pretty prompt, but you get to see the servers less and less as the lounge fills up. Food is also good. Replay offers North Indian, Continental, Chinese,Italian, Mexican food.
