Catalina may be a community placed on the japanese facet of the Bonavista terra firma, within the province of Newfoundland, Canada. Catalina adjoins the union city of Port Union, the city engineered for and residential to the Fisherman’s Union Company established by Sir William Coaker.
The name of the city is putative by E.S. Seary to derive from the French Havre Sainte-Katherine that was later modified to the Spanish name Cataluna. In 2005 Catalina was amalgamated with Melrose and Port Union to create the city of Trinity Bay North.
