Cascade Locks may be a town in Hood stream County, Oregon, u. S.. The town took its name from a collection of locks engineered to boost navigation past the Cascades Rapids of the river. The U.S. Centralized approved the set up for the locks in 1875, construction began in 1878, and also the locks were completed on day, 1896. The locks were after submerged in 1938, replaced by Bonneville Lock and Dam, though the town lost no land from the growth of Lake Bonneville behind the dam placed some four miles (6 km) downstream of the town.
