The Cascade canon Barn was designed by the parkland Service to plain plans and engineered by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1935. The parkland Service rustic vogue barn is five miles (8 km) west of Jenny Lake in Grand Teton parkland within the U.S. State of WY.
The rustic cabin options saddle-notched log corners on a stone foundation. The muse is supported at the corners to support the protrusive log ends, a feature typical of Park Service styles of the time. The initial wide barn door has been stuffed in with windows and a personnel door.
The interior consists of an oversized main area with alittle tack area within the southwest corner, currently used for tool storage. The partition uses vertical poles featured with 4-1/2: wide tongue and groove planks. The space is supplied with constitutional cabinets and a wood-burning cooking stove. A loft is framed with logs and 8″ rough-cut decking, reached by a milled-lumber staircase. The loft deck is roofed with 6″ wide flooring planks. The roof structure is hospitable the undersurface of the roof, with exposed log trusses.
Positioned deep in Cascade canon, the cabin was originally used as a barn, however once associate degree avalanche destroyed the Cascade canon patrol cabin in 1960, the barn was regenerate to a patrol cabin. It shares a standard style and purpose with the Death canon Barn to the south within the park, with minor variations thanks to offered materials and also the preferences of the work crews building the barns.
