Cartago (formerly city state, Daniersburg, and Lakeville) could be a census-designated place in Inyo County, California, u. S.. Cartago is found on the side of Owens Lake three miles (4.8 km) nor’-nor’-west of Olancha, at Associate in Nursing elevation of 3629 feet (1106 m). The population was ninety two at the 2010 census, down from 109 at the 2000 census.
According to the u. S. Bureau of the Census, the CDP contains a total space of one.2 sq. Miles (3.1 km2), over ninety nine of it land. Placed close to the currently abandoned settlement of city state, Cartago took its name from the Spanish name for ancient city state. The primary post workplace at Cartago opened in 1918. Throughout the blossom of mining within the space (the 1870s), Cartago was a boat port for cargo of wood and ore.
