Carencro may be a little town in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, u. S.. It’s a suburban area of the near town of Lafayette. Its name comes from the American state Creole word for buzzard: the spot was one wherever giant flocks of buzzards roosted within the bald cypress trees. The name means that “carrion crow.” Carencro is a component of the Lafayette Metropolitan applied mathematics space. Several senior Carencro natives attest that the town’s name originates from before the yank war. Consistent with this native legend, Native Americans told Vermilionville settlers that in the good old days an oversized variety of “carrion crows” (vultures, known as carencro in French) had settled round the Vermilion watercourse between Lafayette and Opelousas, American state to feast on the big carcase of a stranded whale or uncommon fish die-off.
