Detail InformationEdit
The magnificent Carbonell House stands in the centre of Cordoba, next to the Convent Church of Santa Ana, and was the birthplace of Angel de Saavedra, Duke of Rivas, the 19th century Romantic writer. It was bought by the Carbonell family at the turn of the 20th century, and is very much in the style of late 19th century hotels and minor palaces.
The attractive courtyard in the entrance is closed off by a charming cast-iron fence bearing the date 1881. A cast-iron and glass awning in modernist style covers the steps up to the porch. These days it houses the municipal company VIMCORSA, and many of the large halls are used for temporary exhibitions.
