Canillo is a fine example of the Andorran architectonic heritage and is the capital of the parish of the same name. One of the major tourist places of interest in Canillo is the Santuario de Meritxell that depicts the ultramodern architectonic styles of the 20th century and the traditional Pyrenean fundamentals.
Canillo Tour is incomplete without visiting the Sant Joan de Caselles that was built during the 11th and 14th centuries, is the tallest church-tower in Andorra and is renowned for the Andorra Romanesque architecture. Several centuries old Romanesque chapels are dotted around the town, but the Chapels of Sant Miquel and Sant Serni are worth visiting and attract numerous visitors every year. Other important tourist places of interest in Canillo include Iglesia de la Santa Creu, Creu dels 7 Braços, Palau de Gel de Andorra and Palomar de la Mora.
