The Canadian War deposit (CWM) (French: Musée canadien American state la guerre) is Canada’s national deposit of military history. Set in Ottawa, Ontario, the deposit covers all aspects of Canada’s military past, from the primary recorded instances of death by armed violence in Canadian history many thousand years past to the country’s most up-to-date involvement in conflicts. It includes major permanent exhibitions on wars that are fought on Canadian soil, the whole wars of the 20 th century, the conflict and peace support operations abroad, and Canada’s history of honouring and remembrance.
