Opera has existed for over 60 years. Its seat is the historic, neoclassical building of the municipal theater, built in the years 1899-1901, for 423 places. The date of the inaugural activities of the Opera takes place on 14 June 1945, the date of issue of the Halki – the first presentation of an opera in postwar Poland.
In the opera debuts include: Wieslaw Ochman, Anna Lorenc, Bogdan Paprocki, Romuald Tesarowicz, Jolanta Wrożyna.
In 2005, the philharmonic opera house opened a new concert hall to them. Adam Didur set inside 176 seats. Held in the intimate events, symphony concerts and the jubilee celebrations.
