Lobenstein ruin lies about 2.6 kilometers south of the district Oberneukirchen Urfahr environment in Mühlviertel in Upper Austria.
The former is located on a hilltop castle rising from a wooded valley, flat hilltop at 700 meters above sea level. A sea level near the villages of Upper and Zwettl Neukirchen an der Rodl.
The building has a total area of 703 square meters of enclosed relatively small. It consists of a gothic tower and a curtain wall that once enclosed a number of outbuildings which have not survived today. The well-preserved tower house was built as a six-sided donjon on a boulder and was formerly on the vorgekragten stone ring has a wooden walkway. From the south side of the tower, the strong ramparts takes in a wide arc back to the north tower.
