Bunkpurugu is a town in the Northern Region of Ghana close to the border with Togo. Bunkpurugu is the District Capital of the Bunkpurugu/Yunyoo District Assembly where the administrative issues of the district is carried out.It is the third largest settlement in the region after Tamale and Yendi.It is also the biggest town of the Bimobas(British Mobas).
Bunkpurugu is still without electricity and good access road(s). The only Police Post in the District is in a deplorable state. There is no potable drinking water, the nearest major hospital is miles away in Nalerigu.
