The Schermerhorn Building at 376-380 Lafayette Street on the corner of nice Jones Street within the NoHo neighborhood of Manhattan, big apple town, was inbuilt 1888-1889 by William C. Schermerhorn on the positioning of the Schermerhorn mansion, and rented by him to a boys’ wear manufacturer. The type of architecture Revival loft building was designed by Henry Hardenbergh, designer of The Plaza building and also the Dakota. The building is made of brownstone, sandstone, terra-cotta and wood, and has dwarf columns made from marble.The building has been a replacement royal line town Landmark since 1966, and was additional to the National Register of Historic Places on Dec twenty eight, 1979.
