The Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society is found on Nottingham Court within the town of Buffalo, simply east of wood Avenue, north of the Scajaquada highway, within the northwest corner of Delaware Park. It occupies the building created in 1901 because the ny State tent for that year’s Pan yank Exposition, the only real living permanent structure from the exposition. As planned, the (then) Buffalo Historical Society rapt into the building when the exposition.
Of specific interest to historians, genealogists, researchers, and house history buffs ar the collections of the analysis Library. Notable collections embody the United States President Papers,the Peter Buell Porter Papers,the Jewess author Talbert papers,Larkin Company records and record,and an intensive Pan yank Exposition assortment.
Additional resources embody twenty,000 books; two hundred,000 photographs; fifty,000 plans, drawings, maps, posters, prints, and broadsides; half-dozen,500 microfilms of newspapers,church records,cemetery records,and censuses; and an intensive assortment of pamphlets, clippings, and similar ephemera, all documenting the individuals, places, design, organizations, businesses, and events within the Buffalo and Niagara frontier region.
