The palace was ordered by Comte Heinrich von Bruehl (the prime minister at the court of Saxon king August III in Poland). The town and the palace, as its main element, was designed by Saxon architect -Christoph Knőffel. In 1758 the palace and the neighbouring buildings were burnt by the order of Prussian King – Frederick II. It was rebuilt by the succesors of the family Bruehl. The palace was, unfortunately, destroyed again after the WW II. Till nowadays remained: baroque order of the town (18th century), the remains of the palace, the backhouses, the church, the so called Zasieki Gate and some buildings. It is possible to overnight in one of the backhouses (accomodation and gastronomy). Behind the palace there is a lake with a park around it. There are manyrare sepcies of trees and bushes in this park. Close to the palace, in Jeziory Wysokie, there is a Forest Education Centre with a view tower.
