Bhadra River project dam is constructed to store water for irrigation, power generation and also source of drink water supply for nearby villages. BRP mainly comes in Chikmangalore district but nearer to Bhadravathi. Half of BRP dam portion falls under Bhadravathi and there is easy access point to BRP dam from bhadravathi. There is a guest house facing the back water is nice place for one day picnic. BRP dam receives tourist throughout the year as there is Kuvempu university nearby the dam. Walking on the dam is not allowed and there will be light show in the night when dam will be full to open up the gates.
