Brown ice mass could be a ice mass simply south of spherical Hill on the side of detected Island within the southern ocean. Its terminus is at Brown lagune. To the northwest of Brown ice mass is Compton ice mass, whose terminus is found at Compton lagune, between Gilchrist Beach and Fairchild Beach. To the southeast of Brown ice mass is Stephenson ice mass, whose terminus is found between Dovers ground and Stephenson lagune.
Brown ice mass was surveyed by ANARE (Australian National Antarctic analysis Expeditions) in 1948. Named by Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) for K.G. Brown, ANARE scientist on detected Island in 1951.
The landscape of detected Island and near McDonald Island is continually ever-changing thanks to geological phenomenon, sturdy winds and waves, and global climate change. Volcanic activity has been ascertained during this space since the middle Nineteen Eighties, with recent volcanic rock flows on the southwest flanks of detected Island. Satellite representational process shows that McDonald Island multiplied in size from concerning one to two.5 sq. Kilometers between 1994 and 2004, as a results of volcanic activity.
