The Brooks Atkinson Theatre could be a Great White Way theater placed at 256 West forty seventh Street in Manhattan. Designed by creator musician J. Krapp, it had been created because the Mansfield Theatre by the Chanin brothers in 1926. After 1933, the theatre fell into relative declination till 1945, once Michael Myerberg bought it and chartered it to CBS for tv productions. Called CBS Studio fifty nine, the arena compete host to the long-running panel shows I’ve Got a Secret and what is My Line?.In 1960, it had been renamed once the previous ny Times critic, Brooks Atkinson, and came back to legitimate use. The Nederlander Organization bought into the Atkinson in 1967. In 2000, the inside was refurbished with rehabilitated ornamental finishes by EverGreene field Arts, and currently the theatre is all over again lit by the initial lighting fixture that had been removed over forty years past. It has 1,069 seats and is one amongst the Nederlander Organization’s 9 Great White Way homes.
