Brookline may be a city in Norfolk County, Massachusetts, u. S., that borders on the cities of capital of Massachusetts and Newton. In line with the U.S. Bureau, Brookline contains a total space of half-dozen.8 sq. Miles (17.7 sq. Kilometer), of which, 6.8 sq. Miles (17.6 sq. Kilometer) of it’s land and zero.04 sq. Miles (0.1 sq. Kilometer) of it (0.44%) is water. Brookline borders Newton (part of Middlesex County) to the west and capital of Massachusetts (part of Suffolk County) to the east, north, south, northwest, and southwest; it’s thus non-contiguous with the other a part of Norfolk County. Whereas Brookline shares similarities[which] with several Northeastern urban neighborhoods, like Chestnut Hill, City of Brotherly Love, Brookline is exclusive therein it’s a separate city.[citation needed] Brookline became AN exclave in 1873 once the neighboring city of West Roxbury was annexed by capital of Massachusetts (and left Norfolk County to affix Suffolk County) and Brookline refused to be annexed by capital of Massachusetts when the Brookline-Boston annexation dialogue of 1873.
