The Bronx Borough Courthouse, usually observed because the recent Bronx Borough Courthouse, is a U.S. National Historic Place, big apple town Landmark, and icon of the borough of Bronx. The courthouse was designed between 1905 and 1914 in Morrisania close to capital of Massachusetts Road, Third Avenue, St. Anns Avenue, and 161st Street.
The 161st Street Station of the IRT Third Avenue Elevated train was before of the courthouse. For 2 decades it housed the Supreme, Surrogate’s, and County Courts of the borough till the larger Bronx county seat was inbuilt 1934. Borough Branch of the big apple town judicature remained here till 1977 once the town formally sealed the doors.
