Broad Ripple Village is one among six areas selected as cultural districts in Indianapolis, Indiana. Placed regarding six miles (11 km) north of Downtown Indianapolis, Broad Ripple was established in 1837 as AN freelance municipality and annexed to the town of Indianapolis in 1922. The neighborhood includes a name for being socially, economically, and ethnically numerous and is therefore usually related to its spirited social scene and progressive political attitudes. Broad Ripple is delineated in Washington by Democrat Andre Carson.
