Bridgetown is the bustling capital and commercial centre of Barbados and is situated on its only natural harbor. Originally founded by British settlers in 1628, this stunning city was also called as the “”Indian Bridge”” and the “”town of St. Michael””. At the heart of Bridgetown is the Careenage and Constitution River. This body of water provides the city with direct access from medium sized yachts or small craft .
The numerous duty free shops and craft stores at the Broad Street are popular among shopaholics. St.Mary’s Anglican Church, build in 1825, National Heroes Square, The War Memorial, and Fountain Gardens are popular tourist attractions in and around Bridgetown. At the Chamberlain Bridge many yachts and catamarans aboard, from where Barbados sea turtle tours begin. Tourists can take helicopter tours from Barbados Heliport and the HMBS Wiloughby Fort of the city is an interesting place to visit in this beautiful city.
