The Irwin Bridge is one of the largest bridges built on the Krishna River. It is built of red coloured stones and has two passages for reaching the centre to view the Krishna River. It is also said that the ex Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Vasantdada Patil, jumped into the Krishna River from this bridge, while being chased by the British Army during the freedom struggle.
