Brandywine Village, Ohio could be a former settlement settled close to Brandywine Falls in Summit County, Ohio, USA. It’s among the boundaries of the Cuyahoga vale park. The positioning lies on the border between Northfield Center administrative division and Indian chief Hills administrative division.
The Village of Brandywine was 1st settled in 1814 once St. George Wallace, taking advantage of the water power, engineered a sawmill at Brandywine Falls. It had been a thriving community. Over consequent decade, the Village of Brandywine value-added a booze works, gristmill, woolen mill, and a dozen homes. In 1824, Wallace transferred his property to his sons United Nations agency then fashioned the Wallace Brothers Company. Business thrived for consequent thirty years.
Eventually, Brandywine’s prosperity dried up. The Ohio and Erie Canal, and later the railroads, shipped product to the cities of Akron and Cleveland, going cities like Brandywine behind.
Except for the barn and house engineered by James Wallace in 1848 solely some hidden foundations stay of the Village of Brandywine. Close to the falls, some foundations of the previous grinder will still be seen. The James Wallace House has been remodeled and currently is a bed and breakfast, The lodge at Brandywine Falls.
