Brandywine Village, Ohio could be a former settlement set close to Brandywine Falls in Summit County, Ohio, USA. It’s at intervals the boundaries of the Cuyahoga depression parkland. The location lies on the border between Northfield Center territorial division and sachem Hills territorial division.
The Village of Brandywine was initial settled in 1814 once St. George Wallace, taking advantage of the water power, engineered a sawmill at Brandywine Falls. It had been a thriving community. Over following decade, the Village of Brandywine value-added a spirits industrial plant, gristmill, woolen mill, and a dozen homes. In 1824, Wallace transferred his property to his sons UN agency then shaped the Wallace Brothers Company. Business thrived for following thirty years.
Eventually, Brandywine’s prosperity dried up. The Ohio and canal, and later the railroads, shipped merchandise to the cities of city and Cleveland, deed cities like Brandywine behind.
Except for the barn and house engineered by James Wallace in 1848 solely a number of hidden foundations stay of the Village of Brandywine. Close to the falls, some foundations of the previous grinder will still be seen. The James Wallace House has been repaired and currently is a bed and breakfast, The hotel at Brandywine Falls.
