The Blind Pig could be a music venue in metropolis, Michigan. In one fashionable definition, the name comes from a slang term accustomed check with cops WHO had been bribed to ignore amerciable bar institutions within the days of prohibition. The club was established as a home for blues musicians, though nowadays it books preponderantly ‘indie’ rock acts and native teams.
The Blind Pig opened in 1972. Tom Isaia and Kraut DelGiudice created it as a European-influenced restaurant , complete with espresso/cappuccino, a singular and varied food menu, as well as hand-crafted soups, Italian biscotti, crustini, a full wine and brewage list, and top-notch Blues recreation. The partners restored Associate in Nursing previous downtown metropolis building and named the fusioned cafe/club when the amerciable late haunt the Motown Police had raided some years earlier, touching off the 1967 Motown riot. DelGiudice started the still-operating Blind Pig Records marque in 1975 to showcase music by several of the teams WHO performed often at the club.
