The Blavet watercourse flows from central Breiz and enters the Atlantic on the south coast close to Lorient. The watercourse is canalized for many of its length and is passable for smaller craft. It’s a part of Brittany’s canal system and have become a lot of vital once the western 1/2 that system got bring to an end by the development of Lake Guerlédan’s electricity power dam. Today, boat traffic returning from metropolis via Redon should take the Canal du Blavet and also the Blavet watercourse so as to succeed in the ocean close to Lorient.
