Bishop Castle started as a family construction project set within the Wet Mountains of Southern Colorado within the San Isabel National Forest settled North West of Rye, Colorado. The castle is called when its creator, Jim Bishop. The Castle is found in south central Colorado on a made-up public road, pike a hundred sixty five, around thirteen miles (21 km) southeast of the junction of pike ninety six and pike a hundred sixty five. This road is a component of the Frontier Pathways Scenic and Historic route, and Bishop Castle is shown on the official map.
Construction of the castle began in 1969, once Bishop began construction on a family house, that he set to surround with rocks. Many neighbors noted that the structure looked one thing sort of a castle. Bishop took this into thought and shortly began building his castle. He bought the land once he was fifteen for a value of $1,250. He has two-faced varied challenges with the native and authorities over possession and activities on the location.
