Birla Museum, preserves the evidences and artefacts dating right back to the prehistoric period; whilst, providing its visitors a glimpse of the social culture of the primitive men. Other exhibits at the museum include tools and equipments that were used by primitive men during the Palaeolithic and Neolithic ages.Tourists are lured towards the scale model of Bhimbetka rock shelter exhibited in the museum, with ancient wall paintings of the Stone Age. Archaeologists can also find interest in the displays of stone sculptures, from the 7th to the 13th century, collected from the various archaeological sites. Coins, manuscripts and terracotta objects dating back to the period between 2nd century BC and 6th century AD are other exhibits at this museum.

Birla Museum is an archaeological museum set up in 1971. This one of its kind museum in Bhopal preserves the evidences and artifacts, dating right back to prehistoric periods. Items housed at the museum include tools and equipment that were used by primitive men during the Palaeolithic and Neolithic ages, coins, manuscripts and terracotta objects, all dating back to the period between 2nd century BC and 6th century AD.
