Binsar is a town located in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. This region is very famous among tourists and travellers because of the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary. Tourists and local families from in and around the region visit this wildlife sanctuary in order to catch a glimpse of the many species of flora and fauna present here. The Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary is located at an altitude of around 900 metres to 2500 metres. You can spot many species of animals like musk deer, gorals, leopards, jungle cats, black bears, porcupines, pine martens, langurs, foxes, barking deer, flying squirrels, and chitals during your visit to the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary also houses a wide variety of birds, including woodpeckers, eagles, monals and parakeets. The region of Binsar is thus a very good tourist destination for families. Not only is the region of Binsar famous for its wildlife sanctuary, it is a destination of religious importance as well. There are many temples located in and around Binsar, including the Kasar Devi temple and the Bineshwar Mahadev temple. The Bineshwar mahadev temple is a beautifully constructed site and the temple is dedicated to the main deity Lord Shiva. The Kasar Devi temple, on the other hand, is dedicated to a local goddess Kasar Devi. You can also visit zero point, Almora and Kathgodam during your trip to Binsar. The weather in Binsar is very pleasant throughout the year.

Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Himalayas on top of the Jhandi Dhar hills. It is about 33 km north of the Almora town in Uttarakhand, India.From a place called Zero Point in Binsar one can see the Himalayan peaks like Kedarnath Peak, Shivling, Trisul and Nanda Devi.Binsar was the summer capital of the Chand Kings, who ruled over Kumaon from the 11th to 18th centuries AD. Binsar was established in 1988 for the conservation and protection of the shrinking broad leaf oak (Quercus) forests of the Central Himalayan region, and it has over 200 bird species.Binsar The charming Binsar hill-stations is situated in the Almora district of Uttarakhand. It is one of the most unexplored tourist destintions perched at an elevation of 2400 meters above the sea level, on the Jhandi Dhar hills and is one of the highest hill-station in the Kumaon region. By Air : Flights from Delhi will occasionally be available to the airport in Pantnagar. This is a developing airport in the state of Uttarakhand and flight services here are not so regular. However, you can try for flights to this airport in order to reach Binsar easily from here. Flight fares from Delhi will range around Rs 3,500 to Rs 4,500.

By Train : Trains to the town of Binsar are not available, as the town of Binsar does not have a proper railway station. The nearest railway station is located in Kathgodam, at a distance of 85 kilometres from Binsar. The railway station at Kathgodam will have trains from various stations, including trains from the capital city of New Delhi. Trains from the city of Delhi will charge fares of around Rs 380 for third class AC tickets, Rs 297 for basic tickets and around Rs 84 for second seating class of travel. Train fares for sleeper coaches will range around Rs 146 and first class AC tickets will cost around Rs 860.

By BUS : Local as well as State transport buses are available from Kathgodam, Chandigarh, Delhi and other parts of the region. The base fares is around Rs 2-5 per km.
