This sanctuary is located in Gadchiroli district in the Vidharba region of Maharashtra covering an area of 104.38-sq-km. Majority of the area is under thick forest that is wood land, with small patches of grass lands distributed over the entire protected area. The Bhamragarh Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the most beautiful wildlife sanctuaries in Chandrapur, Maharashtra. Covering an area of approximately 104 square kilometers, the Bhamragarh wildlife sanctuary is a majestic place to visit for the nature lovers. The attraction is best known for its world class flora and fauna, and literally the heaven of all national parks. Its rich collection of vegetation and wild life is a real asset for any wildlife sanctuary. The major flora found in Bhamragarh wildlife sanctuary includes Salaia, Sal, Bel, Bamboo, Palas, Hiwar, Bija, Khair, Tendu, Dhawda, Zizphus Helicteres, Terminenalia species, Bel, Babul, Teak, etc. The commonly found shrubs include varieties of Vitex Nigundo, Isora, Casia Auriculata, Solanium Giganteum, Lantna etc.The fauna in Bhamragarh wildlife sanctuary is also quite remarkable. The major attraction is the tiger. The most commonly found species include Leopard, Sambar, Sloth Bear, Four-horned antelope, Barking deer, Wild Dog, Wild Boar, Chinkara, Blue Bull, Hyena, Wildboar, Bear, Jungle Fowl, Crocodile, etc.

By Air : Nearest airport is at Sonegaon Nagpur, 370-km via Chandrapur

By Train : The nearest railway station to Bhamragarh Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the town of Ballarpur. This railway station, also called as the Ballarshah Railway Station, has frequent trains to the cities and towns of Bokaro, Dhanbad, Kochi and Bangalore. Train fares will range from a minimum of Rs 150 to 200, to a maximum of Rs 2500 for long distance travel through air conditioned coaches.

By BUS : The nearest bus stands from Bhamragarh Wildlife Sanctuary are located in the towns of Aheri and Ballarpur. Frequent buses from these bus stands will be available to Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Lonavala, Nagpur, Aurangabad and Hyderabad, and other nearby destinations. Bus fares will range from a minimum of Rs 100 to fares of around Rs 400 to 500 for far off destinations. Buses will be available to all destinations in the district of Chandrapur.
